Autodesk University 2017 Day 2

Wednesday November 15, 2017  was action packed including a sunrise yoga option for early rising attendees that was sold out. Those who did not rise early were still greeted by the same long hallways of the Palazzo or Venetian.

Many may have needed the yoga centering for the news that was shown on the Technology Keynote by Autodesk Senior Vice President, Design and Creation Products Amy Bunszel speaking about the concept of Autodesk being your co-pilot, customer ideas implemented, data at the center with several great examples with customers like Kalitta Motorsports and Skanska.

To complete the Technology Keynote, a serious shocker to the industry worldwide by Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost inviting Jack Dangermond, President, Esri onstage and then announcing to better help our customers we are partnering with Esri for more sustainable cities as a result.

We had some great classes throughout the day and an awesome Design Slam event followed by the new concept AU Block Party with 5 venues hosting themed parties around the Venetian and Palazzo property instead of bussing everyone to another venue. There was food, drink, activities making things, as well as good music.  I was able to attend two of the venues and had a blast seeing everyone having a great time in the themed parties.

Here are some photos from Day 2:

We had a great exercise in the Exhibit Hall asking attendees to write on a brock what they want less of and what they would like more of in their work life. Some were funny responses like less BS and more cowbell but there were also some good ones like less email and more VR.

Another big hit at AU was once again we brought dogs into the Hub area for attendees like me to play and pet. What a great therapy session at a large busy conference.
