A year ago today, I made my journey back to Oregon.

Autodesk hired me from Oregon 18 years ago and I moved to the San Francisco Bay area for many years followed by a couple years working remotely in Utah before moving back to Oregon last year. I am now based in the Autodesk Lake Oswego Office with a great group of Autodeskers where I live only a few minutes from the office allowing me to walk to work on the nice weather days. I am still in my same role as Technologist in the Office of the CTO.

While Oregon and Portland have changed considerably over the past 18 years, more populated and expensive, hipper, and even weirder (I didn’t think that was possible), it is still my adopted home.

Here is the photo captured of the sunset exactly a year ago as I drove in the Columbia Gorge almost to Portland. It was such a stunning welcome back after18 years away.

It has been a very eventful past year, but I am grateful to be back in Oregon. I am looking forward to another amazing summer in Oregon and more adventures in the beautiful the Pacific Northwest. If you are ever up this way give me a shout to show you around.
