My good friend Dr. Louise Leakey has launched a new site to allow you to join in the exploration of fossils and be part of the most important scientific discoveries. They have developed a site that crowd sources the review of all the photos.

It is simple and you don’t need to endure the 29 hours to fly there, 120 degree heat and cool 90 degree nights with no AC, deadly scorpions, friendly spitting cobras, or potential for malaria but you help science and expand the knowledge of Earths past hominid and animal life. The remote region of Kenya is becoming less remote due to man and our fossil record disappearing like grains of sand disappearing in the wind. Help accelerate the discoveries from the comfort of your computer.

Simply log onto www.fossilfinder.org to find fossils and other geological bits and pieces in the Turkana Basin of Northern Kenya.

You will then get to evaluate photos taken and help science.

While it is about as remote on Earth as you can get, and a difficult area it has the most history and beauty of any place on earth. The Turkana Basin has forever changed my life more than anyone will ever know, but me. I am truly thankful for the work The Turkana Basin Institute is doing and my time visiting a couple years ago. I am truly honored to have been a part of a small slice in the research of technology assisting science.
