AutoCAD Beta Program Transforms to Year Around Customer Council

Transforming the AutoCAD Beta into a Year-Round Feedback CommunityThings are changing in many of the Autodesk Beta programs as many transition to new development cycles and technologies to continually improve the product and participant experience and move to year around customer feedback cycles. Last week I sat in on an call with several customer bloggers while Autodesk’s Allison Keller who manages the AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT Betas and Customer Council and  Autodesk PR Lori Telles presented the changes and benefits as well as took questions.

Here are some highlights of the changes from the presentation “Transforming the AutoCAD Beta into a Year-Round Feedback Community.

Why is customer feedback important?

  • Helps us gain a deeper understanding of our customers’ needs
  • Helps ensure we build the right things
  • Helps create higher quality products with great user experiences
  • Helps builds trust & relationships with customers

Why do customers participate?

Why do customers participate?

Another reason that makes customer feedback more important than every is Agile development.  As you may know, the AutoCAD team and others at Autodesk moved from waterfall to Agile a few years ago. The goals for becoming agile are to enable us to discover and address customer problems, not our problems etc.

The Agile Development Cycles

AutoCAD Agile Development

Within each Agile iteration, we are trying to get even leaner, and do things more frequently.

So now instead of a busy beta season of a couple months it transforms to a year round Customer Council with deeper connection and engagement and more opportunity for you to influence the product you use.
