This is a great YouTube video that shows combining a GoPro camera on a small DJI Phantom UAV to take photos then using cloud based Photo on Autodesk ReCap 360 to automatically create a textured 3D Model of the skatepark and old military structure in San Francisco. You could also experiment using the free Autodesk 123D Catch to create 3D models although they wont be as detailed and high resolution as Photo on ReCap 360.

I have a new DJI Phantom 2 Vision but I am waiting for some great Spring or Summer weather to do some great 3D captures as well as aerial photos and video.
