Last night the Blogger and Social Media Meetup aka BSM360 was held here at Autodesk University 2013. About 190 people attended the event to network with others and get ready for the first big day of Autodesk University 2013.
With so many social mixers the night before AU it is always difficult for people to be in multiple places at once, but we did it. Many people brought their mug shots to be taped to the walls for other attendees to know something about them and help break the ice. There were many old familiar and longtime friends as well as new people that told me this was a hit and they were able to meet new people.
The main reason for this meetup is simple and it is a small token of thanks for all the things bloggers, social media, Expert Elites, and other Autodesk community members do throughout the year. A sincere thank you for keeping us on our toes and telling us when we are doing a great job or when we are not and helping your Autodesk product using peers.
One blogger Melanie Perry even had a custom mug shot made for another Owen Wengerd.
The Autodesk ReCap team brought their 3D laser scanning robot who mixed and scanned the crowd and room.
Everything was great including the nice variety in the bar but there was no pizza to be had. The short story is it had to be removed as we had it delivered and that was against the convention center policy. After the event I took a few attendees for a bite to eat.
Thank you everyone for attending, and Autodesk PR for the use of their room. Looks like next years BSM360 will be even larger and better based on the feedback.
Cheers,
Shaan
